UHURU Leather
Privacy policy
Last updated · 2 September 2026
UHURU Leather respects your privacy and collects only the information needed to run the store, fulfil orders and answer enquiries. This policy explains what we collect and why.
1. What we collect
- Order details — name, phone, email and delivery address, so we can fulfil and deliver your order.
- Account details — name, email and (optionally) phone, if you create an account. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes; we never see them.
- Enquiries — the details you send through our contact, custom-order and corporate forms.
- Newsletter — your email address, only if you consent to subscribe.
- Payment references — transaction identifiers from our payment providers. We never store your full card details.
2. How we use it
- To process and deliver orders, and to send order updates.
- To answer enquiries and prepare custom/corporate quotes.
- To send the newsletter, only where you've consented (you can unsubscribe anytime).
- To keep records required for tax, accounting and consumer protection.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only where necessary: with delivery providers to deliver your order, and with payment providers to process payments. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Legal basis
We process order data to perform our contract with you, and enquiries with your consent. This processing is carried out in line with Tanzanian data protection law — the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022. The final compliance details should be confirmed with a Tanzanian lawyer.
5. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies for essential functions such as your cart and session. See the cookie policy.
6. Retention
Order records are kept for as long as required for tax, accounting and consumer-protection purposes. Enquiries are kept until resolved.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your account data at any time, and ask us to stop sending you marketing. Contact us at the address on the contact page.
8. Security
We use secure connections (HTTPS), hash passwords, and restrict access to personal data to staff who need it. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
These pages describe how UHURU Leather operates. They are provided for information and are not legal advice. Business identity details (registration number, TIN, VAT status and address) are placeholders until the owner enters verified information in the admin. Nothing on this site should be taken as a statement of legal compliance — have the final wording reviewed by a Tanzanian lawyer before launch.
